Michael, now a 10th grader, lives in Seattle, WA, is the Student Ambassador for Schools for Salone.
Michael has traveled to Sierra Leone five times with his mother, Cindy Nofziger. He has visited all the communities and schools that Schools for Salone works with and helps support during the course of his trips to Sierra Leone.
Michael has helped to facilitate letter writing and camera/photo exchange activities with his school and students in Sierra Leone every year since he was in kindergarten.
Michael’s favorite things to do in Sierra Leone: eat ice cream wherever he can find it and go to the beach. Back in Seattle, Michael enjoys baseball, soccer, skiing, rollerblading, hanging out with his best friends, and riding his bike, and cuddling with his cat, Callie.
Michael’s summer 2010 project, “Kids Helping Kids,” has raised over $6000 to help send 30 students to school in Sierra Leone.
